Last night my youngest daughter and I drove to Louisville to attend a Mother's/Daugher's/Women's Banquet at my Mom's church..... which is the church I grew up in..... and the church that most of my family still attend. It was sooooo sweet and heart warming. Lauren and I chatted about it all the way home, which is an hour and a half drive.... when we pulled in the drive way we were still giggling and chatting about the evening and what fun we had.
My cousin's daughter (Abbey) performed a couple of songs on stage with two other young ladies, and then more young ladies joined them on stage for another song. VERY sweet and they were all sooooo cute in there pretty dresses, and rolled hair. Makes me really really really miss my own girls at this age. They did an AWESOME job too. At the end they were all presented with a single red rose, which all of them carried around as if those roses were the most precious gift they had received! They were all very proud of their special flowers.
The men of the church (aka .... the husbands! LOL) served the ladies all night long, bringing us drinks, cake and carrying away our dirty dishes. One of the husbands was dressed as "The Pillsbury Dough Boy".... both Lauren and I have pictures with him..... but then the funniest thing is when his wife told him OUT LOUD that the back of his outfit pants had split and his undies were showing..... and by the way.... he is a white tightie man! All the men were sooooooo adorable and did a great job!!. Then they had a door prize drawing..... which they had soooo many prizes, I think just about everyone walked away with a treasure. Both Lauren and I won.... I won a hand painted BEAUTIFUL apron.... just perfect for the Chef.... Lauren also won an apron, but her's was reversible and really cute too, and she also won a red plastic spatula..... sooo perfect for the bride to be! Lauren loved her apron soooo much (which matched her shoes perfectly) that she wore it all the way home!!! I think she almost wore it to bed too! When I got up this morning she had it on again...... I think she really likes that apron!
All the ladies and daughers were all dressed up in dresses and pant outfits... I mostly remember just looking around the room and seeing sooo many happy women having a good time celebrating each other. I love seeing all the folks who were members of this church when I attended as a young girl and teen and are still there, especially my sunday school teachers and youth group leaders. Lauren and I also were able to spend some time with a couple of our cousins and Aunt..... we don't get to see them nearly enough! Grandma.... we missed you and celebrate you everyday and will do so forever!
Thank you Fisherville Baptist Church for hosting such a wonderful event. Lauren and I enjoyed ourselves immensely! Thank you Nancy for reminding me to get back to blogging! However.... I will be out of the country next week and there will be another long pause in the blogging.... but I promise to resume it once again when I get back home! Hugs to all my readers, I deeply appreciate all your comments and support!!!
